Coral reefs are one of the most valuable - and imperiled - ecosystems on Earth. CORAL has a proven strategy for protecting our planet's coral reefs and the communities that depend on them. While reefs may occupy less than 1% of the ocean, their importance cannot be overstated—their vibrant biodiversity powers ecosystem services, including fisheries, tourism, coastal protection, and medicine, which are conservatively valued globally at $400 billion per year. And yet, reefs are so threatened by unsustainable human activity that we may lose virtually all of them in the next 50 years. Fortunately, this loss is preventable, and it is preventable at a local level. We increase sustainable business practices, build alliances, secure sustainable financing for reef conservation, reduce local threats to reefs, establish effective marine protected area management, and ensure shared benefits with local communities. To support this organization press the link below titled give now
